Full Service Adoption Agency

Baby

First Coast Adoption Professionals

First Coast Adoption Professionals coordinates adoptions, whether they are through our adoption agency or an identified adoption. Birth parent counseling, adoption document preparation and court appearances necessary to terminate parental rights are provided by our adoption professionals, culminating in the finalization and legal adoption of the infant or child.

Domestic Home Study

Each home study is conducted to meet the Florida Adoption Statues. This includes ensuring the prospective adoptive family is physically healthy, financially stable and has a clear criminal and child abuse history. Background checks are completed, current physicals must be provided as well as financial documents, letters of reference, etc. A social worker reviews all of the required documentation prior to conducting the home visit.

At the time of the home visit, the social worker will address relationships within the family, involvement with children, current employment as well as neighborhood and local resources. In addition, adoption issues are discussed including the prospective adoptive parent’s attitude about adopted children, respect for birth families and adoption education in general.

International Home Study

This home study must meet the same criteria as outlined above. In addition to state requirements, an international study must meet the requirements of the Immigration and Naturalization Service and the foreign country involved. International home studies usually require multiple visits prior to the final report being generated.
