Emergency Financial Assistance
Jewish Family & Community Services (JFCS) helps individuals and families take control of their lives, achieve self-sufficiency, and maintain their dignity.
JFCS disburses federal, state and private funds to help families meet basic needs and get back on their feet. JFCS helps with:
- Rent and mortgage assistance, as available
- Utility payments
- Food assistance

Winn-Dixie Emergency Food Pantry
Thanks to donations of non-perishable food items and monetary contributions from a concerned community, JFCS provides nutritious emergency groceries to those experiencing difficult times.
Our on-site pantry is open on a walk-in basis on Tuesday and Thursday from 1:00 – 3:00 pm. We are located at 6261 Dupont Station Court, East, Jacksonville, FL 32217 (off St. Augustine Road, two blocks from University Blvd.).
Walk-ins are welcome. Bring your Picture ID. You may receive food up to three times in a twelve-month period.

Standing Tall Life Skills
To help people lead productive, self-sufficient lives, JFCS teaches a seven-part life skills education course called “Standing Tall.”
Our modules include:
- Developing a Personal Budget and Savings Plan
- Utilizing Checking Accounts and Banking Options
- Grocery Shopping on a Budget and Wise Nutrition
- Affordable Housing and Housing Resources
- Effective Job Search
- Developing Positive Assertiveness
- JEA’s “Savings Without Sacrifice”
